Google Forms is one of the most widely used tools on the internet. It is free, it works, and for anyone already living inside Google Workspace, it is the path of least resistance. That is a real advantage and it is worth saying plainly.

Getting started
Google Forms has near-zero onboarding friction for anyone with a Google account. Open a browser, go to forms.google.com, and you are building. The interface is a simple top-to-bottom list — add a question, pick the type, move on. There is nothing to learn.
NodumForms requires a sign-up but is comparably fast. The builder is a drag-and-drop canvas with keyboard shortcuts — more capable than Google’s linear editor, and slightly more to learn as a result. Most users are productive within minutes, and a live preview updates as you build, which Google Forms does not offer.
Branding and visual design

NodumForms is built around branding as a first-class feature. Set your colours, fonts and logo at the workspace level and every form you build inherits them automatically. On the Pro plan, NodumForms branding is removed entirely — respondents only ever see your identity.
For individuals and internal use, this gap does not matter much. For teams sending forms to customers, clients, or the public, it matters considerably.
Collaboration
Google Forms allows multiple editors on a form, but all of them need a Google account. Sharing with someone outside your Google Workspace means managing account access. There are no live cursors, no version history, and no way to see who is editing what in real time.
NodumForms ships live cursors, version history with one-click restore, and public edit links — a URL that gives anyone full editing access without an account. For teams that work with external collaborators, contractors, or clients, the public edit link alone is a meaningful difference.
Responses and data
Google Forms sends response data to Google Sheets. This is genuinely powerful for users comfortable with spreadsheets — pivot tables, charts, formulas, and every other Sheets capability is immediately available. If your team already uses Sheets for analysis, this pipeline is hard to beat.
NodumForms has a dedicated response dashboard with real-time submissions, per-question detail views, and search and filter across all responses. There is no native spreadsheet integration, but CSV export is available on all plans. For teams that want to review data inside the tool, the NodumForms dashboard is more purpose-built; for heavy data analysis, Google’s Sheets integration is stronger.

Google Forms is free with any Google account, with no response limits and no paid tier. There is nothing to pay.
NodumForms is currently in beta, with all features — including Pro features like branding removal — available for free. After the beta period, the free plan will include core features and the Pro plan will be $5 per month. There is no per-seat fee for collaborators.

The bottom line
Google Forms is the right tool if you are already inside Google Workspace, you need a quick form with no setup, and you plan to analyse the results in Google Sheets. It is hard to argue with free, familiar, and already installed.
NodumForms is the right tool if your forms are customer-facing and brand matters, if you are building with a team and need real collaboration features, or if you want a response experience built for reviewing data rather than exporting it to a spreadsheet. The public edit link feature alone makes it worth a look for any team that works with external partners.
The two tools are not really competing for the same user. Google Forms wins on simplicity and ecosystem; NodumForms wins on brand, builder quality, and collaboration. Which one is better is a question about what you are building and who is going to see it.
